You are not going to feel the difference between the 96 and the 103, but you will see it at the pump. The only difference you will see is the badge on the side of the engine! STAY WITH THE 96!

96 has all the power I need. Personally I would keep it and use the money for other things. You know you'll be putting some mods on so why not start $1,300 ahead. It's really going to come down to if YOU think it's worth it or not.

What else is different on the '12?

Is the rear tire a 180 as opposed to a 160? Is the rim wider?

Is there some appearance differences?

If it's just the 103 over the 96... Not a huge deal. Put an SE 104 cam in the 96" and go like hell.

Of course, that ain't cheap. Labor is out of control. Plus you'll have to put a tuner on it. Plus.... $$

Make sure you know what you're giving up before you make the call.

In five years, you'll have forgotten what you paid for the Bike.

But you'll still have the bike.

Get what you want.

Keep the bike you bought. Take the money and your girlfriend to Foxwoods and have a good time. Maybe even double your money!

I rode a lot of new bikes last summer @ demo days @ my dealer....I couldn't notice ANY difference between the 96 & the 103 from the seat. Doing A/C, pipes, tuner & cams is where you're going to notice the difference, not in the 7 cubic inches.
there are other differences between the 2011 & 2012...new Delphi 4 wire O2 sensors & tach are standard, instead of the button beside the speedo to scroll between trip, ect, it is on the handlebar. when you have it in tach function, it also shows the gear you are in. I use the tach & gear viewer constantly just because I can. Getting a 2012 might be worth it, but not just because of the 103. If I had my choice, of course I would take the 103 instead of the 96, but there's really no noticeable difference in power. I'm sure my 2012 FXDC will be the last with the 96 & hear the 2013 FXDC & FXDB will also have the 103.

I would get the 96 .I own a 2011 wideglide with the 96 and as soon as the 103 came out i went and rode 1 . I had already put pipes and tuner on mine and tuned it mine mine seemed faster but stock to stock I dont think you will tell the difference
