So far, it's looking fairly split down the middle -- not sure how to count this one!

I wish I could have found a 2011 street bob that was new. I prefer working with conventional wiring. It makes the parts cheaper in some cases. Exhaust parts go up to 2011 because of the different o2 sensors so it's easier to find used cheaper parts.

103 is 500 bucks more changing the jugs out yourself and you have extra dough to buy upgrades you may want, like a cam.

i would stick with the 11, for 1300 you could have a 96 stage 2 that would walk all over the 103 stage 1 bikes

I like these comments! Yeah! Everyone please keep talking up the 103, so the price of a 96 will come down when I am ready to buy an RKC.

I am not a big speed guy, if I wanted to go fast I would have bought a rocket. My motor with stage 1 is all i ever will need for my bike.

I say screw it you already got the 2011 invest that dough into upgrades for that one.

2012 is the way to go. It's more then just the bigger motor. CAN buss system. Compression release. Tach and gear indicator. Flash to pass button. Display toggle on the handlebars instead of on the dash. When you do cams the 211 will work well with the 103. The 211 with the 103 makes a lot more power then the 204 cam in the 96. So there is much more then just seven inches.

I agree with ICEMAN 100%. I bought my 2011 Wide Glide 4 months before the 2012's came out with the 103 engine. I ended up getting mine tuned and added new breather and exhaust. The way I look at it is I use my bike to cruise and if I have a quick "need for speed" it can fulfill that need. If I was drag racing my Wide Glide then I would have been bummed about not having the 103 but the 96 fulfills all my needs. I would def save the $1300 because before you know it you will be going "mod crazy" like the rest of us. Congrats on the new bike!! Enjoy it and don't look back!!

Also...ditch the "mod = warranty void" info because adding parts to your scoot during warranty coverage doesn't canx it out. Just think for a minute - tons of bikes are sold daily w/new pipes/cams/stage-1/2/3, etc... Do you think the dealership makes them sign a "voided warranty" statement. It's total BS!
