As I stated in a post last fall, I switched from H-D synthetic to Redline in the bike. Since yesterday was the first chance to get a good ride in after the change, I have to say there is a huge difference. The engine, tranny, and primary all run cooler than before. Valvetrain noise was still there but considerably reduced, and as for the clunky shifting in the transmission, it is completely gone. Anyone who is questioning switching lubricants should definately consider Redline.
I think anything else in the tranny is better than what Harley puts in. Harley swapped out my tranny and primary cases because of the 06 IPB issue over the winter (big thanks again!). It took just two rides before I decided to get rid of whatever they put in the tranny and go back to Redline. Shockproof is the way to go with these things.
