Lol. As much as I hate to burst your bubble. I looked and studied and thought and did it all over again of an easy way to do this without removing the exhaust. It was just easier to take the whole system off, took like 10 min. Don't unscrew the o2's. Unplug them. Makes working in that area way easier

Yep, had a moment to look at the bike and even with the V&H the pipe must come off.The only hope is if I have a ratcheting crow's foot it might be possible however the amount of time it would take to remove it might be a toss up. I'll let everyone know for sure.

Well I have settled on a Voltmeter, Oil Pressure, and Mini Tach. In addition I wanted to install an Oil Temperature Gauge and found the installation instructions of where to install the sending unit on a wet sump 103 motor...Problem is on a Dyna it sits about .325" behind the kickstand crossmember so it is in accessable and unusable so back to the drawing board. See page 2 on this installation instruction sheet for similar location http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J04790.pdf or Look under your bike at the oil pan and you will see a Allen head plug in the center of the oil pan facing forward. That is the recommended point. Please note the instructions are for a FLT and the Dyna oil pan is slightly different however the pick up point is in the same location.

As a man of my word the final is you must remove the head pipe as already recommended because there is just not enough room between the engine case and the head pipe. That was the simple part. The tough part was wiring up the gauge because on a Dyna, the HD instructions are usless since none of the plugs exsist. Here is what I did, #1 install the ground, #2 use only the green/brown wire connect to the S terminal on the gauge, #3 connect the positive terminal to a keyed positive. I used the Pink lead on the 3 wire plug in the console and installed a jumper, works great. For light, I picked up off the head light lead which is simple, lights go on, gauge light goes on.
Next comes how to wire up the Voltmeter. Logic says direct to the battery, but there must be a better way, and HD instructions on the topic, not there.
