I am installing a Road Glide fairing on my Fat Bob. I have 4 guage spots to fill so the question is what and how?
Oil pressure I assume but where is the sending unit?
Oil temperature? Is there a sending unit for this? If so where?
Volt meter? Where is best pick up point?
What else and how?
Bob
There is no sending unit for oil pressure/temp but it can be added. Mud's bike comes to mind. ... For the voltmeter anywhere close you can pickup a +12v is fine - Tap the headlight lead maybe..?
This may sound corny but for the fourth gauge, ambiant temp can be handy while touring.
Post some pics when you get the fairing mounted. I'm looking at modifying a batwing for my FB but would love to see what the road glide front clip would look like.
I willl post photos as soon as it is done. After I posted this I saw the 2" Tach, that is definately going in along with the Volt meter. I need to find someone with a manual to see if there is a bung that is in the engine case for the oil guages.

Behind right side forward control there is a plastic looking piece. That's where you'll pull oil pressure from. Make sure to use thread lock for the application, autoparts store has it. Like 6 bucks. I'll try and snap a quick pic.
Perfect! I know exactly where to look now and by the looks from your excellent photos I likely already have the fitting in stock (from building Hot Rods and Off Road stuff). Ok, that is 3 down, Oil Pressure, Tach, and Voltmeter. Not sure Ambiant Temp is something I need, but deserves some research and consideration.

Oh and I'm not sure if that's sarcasm about the pics or not! Lol. My phone wouldn't fit where I tried to get a good profile pic of the fitting. Haha post pics when you're done in anxious to see this fairing

No Seriously dude, ok as proof, it was late when I saw your post but here goes... Look for the OX sensor on the forward pipe, just above the brake pedal on the block between the headpipe and down tube.
Geez, I just hope I can get a socket on it without removing the forward exhaust pipe.
BTW, I just now realized the photos were shot with a phone, guess that's why I and everyone else now have a perminant record of your finger prints! LOL!
