Default Tachometer 03 lowrider
Does anyone know if the tachometer is suppose to be illuminated on a 2003 dyna lowrider? I know that the speedometer is obviously suppose to be illuminated but can't remember if the tach is. Thanks

Yes, both are illuminated on mine.

Austin dave, does ur tac light up when the key is turned on or only when the bike is started?

Ok. I changed out bars and took the tank off in the process. Tac, fuel gauge, and neutral light no longer illuminate. Always something.

...it sounds like the orange wire (instrument 12 v power feed) doesn't have 12V power.

I'd start checking the 15amp instrument fuse first.

If the fuse is OK, then check if the orange wire that comes from your electrical panel has 12 V power.

Then check the orange wire in the connector at at the end of the main harness where it is connected to the speedo connector.

Work your way up towards to where the instruments connect to the orange wire.

Checked the fuse and sure enough, it was bad. FXD2003Rider, thanks for the good info. So thankful it was something so simple.
