Half the miles the price would be ok, but seems high.

That's because you guys aren't in SoCal. There's no "winter" prices here. Just one long riding season.

Dealers here all pay blue book auction price for trades. Dunno but would guess the PO got somewhere around 6-6500 on the trade. If you found someone on craigslist looking to change bikes and offered them 7500 - 8000 both of you win.

It is a bit much to pay considering for another 2000$ you could get a brand new bike. There has to be lots of left over '11 bikes if you look around.

Not if she was going to spend $ on the upgrades already on the bike she's looking at. Best thing to do is pick what mods you want and find a bike with those mods and let the previous owner take the hit!

Good idea, but doing the mods is half the fun.

In my opinion that says good things about the codition and reliability of the bike, especially if they have any service records to back it up. Is it going to need brakes or tires soon? Added costs if it that is the case.

Regular riding is the best maintenance you can do for these bikes as long as you change the oil as needed. Take it for a test drive. See if it feels good or rattles like a bucket of bolts. If it feels healthy and if you trust the dealer I'd say make an offer.
Its a full stage one.
