I recently saw a thread where someone mentioned redline making their transmission 100% better. Not sure what percentage yours needs to be bumped back up to to make it good again but I thought I'd mention it.

well started out by getting things organized... Argos came out to help me

pulled the trans clutch cable cover off

popped open the primary to let it drain

set up my parts table

3am, cleaning done, basic cases off, fluids drained... one sleepy pup

think i should swap to the blue color matched spring?

The blue springs are sick! Are you going to put the EZ pull clutch ramp while you are in there?

the rest of the info you provide,

I would suspect dog rings and/or shift cam.

I had issues with both a couple years back.

..............money.

my issue was due my my own abuse of the machine.

shifting w/o the clutch. was smooth like an automatic trans.

result was an automatic $400 withdrawal from my wallet.

first I noticed a feel like it was coming out of gear momentarily.

progressively got worse

As always Mud is on point....rounded engagement dawgs on that gear and the pocket of the next gear. time for a tranny teardown Joe. I have an extra 5 speed but no extra 6 speeds layin around or I would offer that to you.

well mud as always you where SPOT ON!.... the spines on the shifter are stripped to nothing!... does anyone know what this is called i am getting shifter dog, squirl cage, shifter drum... i am not sure what to ask for when i call HD to get a replacement!

everything came out really smooth, only special tools i needed was the pulley locking tool and the socket... and to be honest., i did not even have to remove them!
had a buddy that came by and it was nice to have another set of hands for sure!

trans gears out... shifter arms are nice and strait
