Good info from all of you. I appreciate it. As it stands now, I have 08 FXD with Air Cleaner, PC3 from fuel moto and thunderheader. Generic map from them. Next I will be looking for 103 build. Port Heads, Cam, pushrods, whatever little stuff comes along with it as well as a Tune. Guys I will be working with seem to be doing good stuff. As far as riding style, **** who knows. I just ride the thing. I have freeways and twisties. I live in NorCal we got it all. I don't want to spend a grip of money because before too long I will prob get a bagger plus if I do the 107 like I would like to do then I am looking at a lot more things; starter, compression releases, gear drive cams (Yes I know not limited to a 107), Chain drive etc. Who knows maybe I'll do it all. Either way, Cheers
I would just get the fuelmoto 107, they would probably gladly provide you with a map for it. I don't think you need chain drive for a 107, people are running 120r etc without chain drive. I also don't think you will need gear drive, I only went with it because of the bad tensioners in the older bikes. No need for a new starter, and as far as compression releases, fuel moto can put those in for not much extra money if you have your headwork done by them. Same goes for most builders. I have the S&S EZ start cams that have built in compression releases so I don't have them in my heads. The 640 cams are awesome, but the power band is from 3000-6000 rpm, i wish it came in closer to 2000
S&S 106" pistons w/ stock bored cylinders
Worked heads with 2.02" intake and 1.650 exhaust
Woods 9B's
SE 50mm Throttle body
Thunderheader
Dude with a similar build using 103 pop-ups and a Bassani Road Rage made 119hp/113tq on the same dyno. Shop did another similar 103 build that got 115/115.
I think the Bassani is the pipe to go with if horsepower is your goal...
Talked to Bob Woods today, and he said the Fuel moto 107 is the best deal in the country right now. Obviously his opinion, but I was sold on the 107 before I talked to him. I called him to get some insight on the TW7 cams Ive got and what would be a good combo with the 107.
About 45000 miles on this build, nearly half two-up (she bought her own bike) and still going strong. 103 w/ HQ heads, cams, pistons (CP) and comp releases, S&S IST ignition, SE/Jims crank, 51CV, 2" Cycle Shacks...note the 100ft lbs at about 2200RPM...If I was to do it again the only change I would make is I would go 113...have stock clutch with SE pressure plate.
setup in sig. 101hp/100tq
Power comes on hard by 3200rpm and pulls hard to 6500..which works well if you ride like an azzhole like me. but some riders wouldn't get much fun out of this powerband. If I do it again I'm going bigger (over 100ci) and not worrying about much other than rear tire replacement intervals
and like others have said, the tune is super important. I'm using a donated pre-production Power Vision on my bike. The tune is a trial and error setup by me and it's not perfect..but we lack any real competent tuners in Vegas so I'm kinda learning on the fly. Probably more in the setup if i knew how to unlock it lol.
and sharkey, I don't like blue anything..cars, bikes, clothes..anything..but your bike is so fvcking amazing it makes me colorblind. and now seeing those #'s I love it alot more. b1tchin bike man!!

... "note the 100ft lbs at about 2200RPM" ... indeed, bro ... about 90ft lbs at 2000RPM ... bet that is fun to ride ...
