Default At my wits end!

Hi all
I'm new to this forum and I hope some of you folks don't mind helping an old guy out. I may not be in the right place for this, but I'll try anyway. I recently purchased a 2007 dyna super glide custom that has been basically sitting up for months. The bike has got 16,000 on the clock and ran great when I test drove it and for about 70 enjoyable miles afterward.

Then it started. Was cruising along at about 50 and it backfired loud and died. It didn't want to start back but after sitting for about 30 minutes, it fired up and ran fine for about 2 miles and did it again.

I got it home and the next day the same thing happened. Seems like when it reaches a certain temp. it shuts down, and when it cools, it runs fine.

I found some info online about running diagnostics and did it. I have 4 codes. p0373,p0374,p1353,p1356.

Can somebody tell me what these mean and what I should do? I'm a decent old school wrench, but this is my first efi bike.
Thanks in advance
Hock

Not sure of the codes, I'd have to look them up. Although I would start with the basics of making sure the electrical system is clean and tight at all connections, and double check the crank position sender. I'd also make sure I had good clean fuel in it, after flushing the old stuff out.

That's a start, however I would imagine you've done all that.

P0373 - CKP (crankshaft position sensor) intermittent
P0374 - CKP sensor synch error
P1353 - Front cylinder no combustion
P1354 - Rear cylinder no combustion.

Check the wires going to the CKP located on the left front end of the crankcase. If the wires look good, remove the CKP and clean the end of it. CKP may be bad though.

Sounds like a faulty Crank Position Sensor

I forgot to mention that a new CKP Sensor costs about $40.

I appreciate the input guys. I had a couple of locals tell me it could be bad fuel or maybe the fuel pump, etc. But it starts up and runs great cold. Seems this is only happening when it reached a certain temp. I'm going to check the CKP now.

I don't know if this would be covered under those codes or not. There has been a number of post where the wires to the fuel injectors had cracked insulation and once the bike warmed up it would start misfiring. If the crank sensor doesn't fix it you might want to look there next.
