Coolest riser/bar setup I have ever seen on a Dyna...
I was up in DC today for a Spring Fling party and was walking threw the parking lot checking out the motorcycles. I came across this black Dyna with dog bone risers and mini apes. Maybe 13 inch bars. I have never in my life seen some one run dog bones on a Dyna but let me say, for you guys who love to throw the words "Old School" around, this was really it. So my question is, have any of you guys ever run dog bones on a Dyna? I can't believe I was so stupid as to let him get away before it dawned on me to get a picture, but to make a long story short, it looked like he just clamped a 6 or 7 inch stainless rod in his stock risers and bolted a pair of dog bones to the rod. Then he just clamped his apes to the dog bones. All I could think about was Peter Fonda's chopper and how cool his bars looked mounted on dog bones. At least for me, I am seriously considering trying to make something like that for my Springer, but I am just super curious as to whether any of the Dyna faithful have ever tried such a mod. If so, please post up a few pictures. I'm sure I can't be the only one who would think this is cool.
For those unfamiliar with dog bones, here are some dog bones on a Springer style top clamp:

Yup, I seen them on several bikes over the years, some do look good and others not so, depending on the styling.
One guy back in the late 60's early 70's had the 6 or 8" dog-bones leaned back towards the seat with those old style narrow Z-bars and it just looked out of place.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I could see why doing it wrong would kill the look. SURFORCHOP runs a kind of half dog bone's on his bike and they look pretty cool for sure but the full double clamp that I saw, was pretty wicked looking. I tried google images and can't find much on the Dyna's. Hey, maybe theres a reason or maybe its just not what people dig. With all the flat black throwback styling on this forum, I was shocked that this was the first time I had ever actually seen a set on a Dyna.
I kinda did that to the 2010 wide glide that I had. I used an 8"dogbone and a set of pull back drag bars. It sat about the same as stock, but looked way cooler.
Thanks for all the input guys but seeing as we are having a torrential downpour outside and I'm a research-a-holic, I have discovered that this really isn't the viable option I thought it might be. I found the actual part that steve0 posted on the Paughco site, but I currently have the I31 Paughco bars. Paughco clearly states that these bars will not work with Dog Bone risers. I spent a lot f time and went threw a lot of bars till I settled, and then internally wired, these particular bars. No way am I swapping out every single part as well as rewiring yet another set of new handlebars, just to run Dog Bones. So this project is dead for now. Still, I would love to see pictures of Dog Bones on Dyna's if they pop up. I still have high hopes they are a cool addition to any Dyna.
