i just have mini apes that came on the street bob stock . but i get about1-2 inch of play with the stock bushings sometimes its alittle unsettling while riding in traffic .. i know they are cheap and not hard to change but i was just wondering peoples thoughts on them ..
HUGE difference. When I first got my bike, I could easily move my grips several inches forward and back. I HATED that. The poly's reduce that movement to maybe 1/2" and the vibration didn't increase noticably for me. Actually, I have a set of Alloy Art Goodntites that I cansell you for $20+shipping.
I had to use a top clamp adapter on my springer to keep my bars and risers. The new top clamp doesn't allow the use of bushings. So my bars are rigidly mounted now. Let me know if you are interested in my set, but either way, I would recommend them almost as a "required" upgrade.
i didnt realize that this springer bob was so close to me i am in springhill 34609 area i would like to meet up and take a look at your bike one day when the weather drys out. i think i will pass on your poly kit for now and do alittle more research on them before i commit to anything
I added them at my bar change to mini-apes over 3.5" straight risers .... I think they were worth it in my case as I didnt want any slop/mush in my new set-up.
I installed the poly bushings on my Wide Glide, with the rubber bushings it seemed like even when I cranked the torque on the riser bolts to the suggested maximum that the handle bars still had way more movement in them than I cared for. After switching to the poly bushings they have stayed in place and have not been a problem.
