[quote=619bob;11822027][quote=SquidHead;11821975] I hit the worst part of the freeway (the 5/805 split) above 80, and the control was much improved.

That expansion joint heading southbound through the uphill sweeper is the primary reason I upgraded my suspension...lol Works trackers, Works triple rate springs and cartridges, Speed Merchant preload adjusters and a GPR stabilizer have given the bike a whole new dimension.

Great progress on your build Squid I have enjoyed following it!
Yeah, that and the stretch down 805 south after the HOV lane ends are the worst in all of SD I think. I was drooling over that GPR stabilizer a few months ago. How is it? Worth the money? I have the BKRider stabilizer. It does what it's supposed to, but I hate the looks of it and the heim joints are starting to rust.

Have you checked the dsag yet? Interested in what you got right now. I used zip ties to check mine...

I measured exactly 2", but I don't think I used fabrik8r's method to get that number. I measured from my fork brace to the bottom of the lower tree with the bike on the lift (9.0"), then had my wife measure the same distance on the ground with me on the bike, jiffy stand up. The 1st measurement was 7.25", then I bounced it a couple times and got 7.0".

I'm going to check it again following fab's measurement instructions so I can compare apples to apples.

How much sag did you get with your added weight vs. the bike standing by itself on the ground?

Brians (from Ricor) recomendation was 1 1/4"-1 3/4" of sag with riders weight. Mine came out at 2 1/4 so it looks like I didn't cut quite enough

GPR hands down best mod I have done to my bike and imo worth the money. Instills a ton more confidence at speed and the adjustability on the fly allows for fine tuning depending on ride conditions/situatuions.

I do have to add that I have not done Sputhe or TT, however, friends that have done both the GPR and Sputhe swear by the setup.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the Sputhe and love it even though I get a little extra vibration through the bars...totally worth it for the improved handling. I also had to jerry-rig my CA EPA box. I tried completely removing it and plugging the vapor line, but it would stink of gas everytime I turned off the bike and there was always a little condensed gas wetting the overflow. I put it back on with zip ties until I can make a bracket the blends in better.

Once my BKRider stabilizer explodes, which is supposedly how they all fail, I'll be pricing the GPR. It so much cleaner looking.

Just for my own knowledge, I see two different traxxion part numbers.

44x365x---
44x380x---

First (44) is diameter of spring in mm?
I'd assume that's allowing 5mm so the spring doesn't bind inside the 49mm tube.

Second (365/380) is length of spring in mm? 380 is for wide glide?
Third is obviously the spring rate for your application.

With a longer/thicker spring, how much does that affect the amount of fork oil needed? I know my 07 wg takes 29.6oz stock.

Could I request a side by side photo regarding stock spring and traxxion replacement?

I don't have a specific answer about the fork oil. I just replaced it with the same volume measured by distance from the top of the fork tube. The service manual specifies 5.8" compressed without the spring. I measured 5.75" and called it good. I suppose the longer, thicker spring displaces more oil. What about the shorter spacer? Does it contribute anything to the oil displacement? I don't know enough to say. I could remove some and test the effect on handling, but based on the good results so far, I'm reluctant to mess with it at this point without some additional guidance.

It seems there should be a measurement of oil level above the installed spring that ought to be considered, but I haven't found anything like that in my searches.

I measured the stock spring at 330mm. If/when I open everything up again to shorten the spacer later, I'll pull out the spring and snap a photo of it next to the stock one.

For clarification, my spring is the 44x365 version...Street Bob 49mm.

My bike is also a street bob, so was Ryderbikers' 15mm isn't much when you're cutting spacers, adding intiminators and pre-load adjusters.
I'll be getting around to doing mine starting this weekend, so I'll take pics side by side of the springs.
I'm swapping out the sliders for fat bobs so I can do the dual disc set up. I think I have everything I need.Fingers crossed.
