Default Question for you guys with VIED's

For you guys with the VIED's, if you have the one with the adjustable dashpot. Where did you set your initial setting? And where did you end up with the setting that worked the best?

Thanks...Kevin

XIEDS are simply an inline resistor, in basic terms. There is not adjustment as far as I know.

I had them on my bike and to be perfectly honest couldn't tell a difference in the adjustments, so I just ran them about 75%. Bike did seem to be somewhat cooler.

I'd suggest a little caution with Vieds. Xieds were designed to bias the O2 sensors just at the limit of their operability, about 800mV or an AFR of about 14.25:1. Go beyond this with Vieds and the life of the O2 sensors will be shortened and their output will not be accurate.

This is true Fox.. But for me I would rather replace a O2 sensor over a burnt piston or two...

I agree. It should be noted that if (or when) the lambdas become inaccurate, it's almost always in a direction which causes the engine to run leaner, eventually eliminating the benefit of the mod, and potentially taking you into leaner-than-stock territory.
