My bike sits in the sun all day at work but when I really noticed it was after I got stuck in the rain. It's nota big deal but I will do what I can to make them nice and black again.
My FXRT fairing arrived yesterday. It is in really nice shape and has a stereo, speakers, new gauges, everything except the lower mount pieces. I was thinking that I'd jsut resell it since I just picked up a Road Glide but I saw a sick FXR with an FXRP fairing on it on my ride today and that changed my mind.
I am going to get it painted the same color as the bike. I am not sure how to mount the lower part of the fairing. I guess I need to get a crash bar to mount it to. I am thinking a Road Glide type mount might work as well.
I left it at the shop as there was no way to carry it home on the sportster. Regardless, I have a lot of projects now as I have big plans for my new Road Glide as well. My softail is gone I am sad to say but it was time for a new project.
...Then I get on these forums and before you know it....I see projects that I think I really NEED....usually **** I didn't even know I needed until I see it. lol. These bikes can be money pits once you start down the mod trail. My jeep has been the same way. Oh well....modifying **** is half the fun for me.
Robbie13 started my downward spiral, quickly followed by Hogpro and others. I've learned to save all my previous mods so if (WHEN) I change my mind, I can go back to them.
This thread has tons of inspiration, thanks Hogpro!
Yeah, once I get a bike I know where all my cash will be going for a while. I just got a RG so this project is pretty much done for now except the fairing which I need to paint and make a lower bracket for. I don;t mind spending teh cash on the bieks as I ride them all the time. It would be different if I never rode them.
I am selling my JRI piggyback shocks to fund my bagger project right now. They retail for $1600, but if anyone is interested I will hook up a fellow forum member for $1100. they can be rebuilt to suit your weight and riding style and I will gladly ship them direct to JRI for rebuilding.
I have recently discovered that stuff for baggers is far more expensive than I realized. My FXDXT still leaves everyone in the dust. On yesterday's ride which was about 300 miles (200 of that great canyons) the baggers were miles back. And, I was riding at a moderate pace. LOL. The T Sport is truly a great Hog.
HogPro I have read all 96 pages and enjoyed seeing what you have done to make your bike better performing. I have an 05 FXDXi I picked up with 1900 miles a couple of months a go.My powdercoat should all be back this week and I have just about everything I need to put it back together. When you swithed to the Lyndall rotors did the problem with the brake pads engaging all of the rotor because of the angle of the caliper get fixed? I also have a 12 RGC and love it!!! Two great bikes! I would like to use the brembos like my 12 has on the FX . Did you use master and proportioning block from your FXDXT?
But some made a cool one that is similar to a Road Glide mount too so I guess that is what I will do.
I can't find the pic on the new FB layout. Regardless, I'll figure it out.

Thanks man. Also I was thinking of doing a dual disc setup in front. My question is, am I able to do this with my front rim, or do you need to order a rim specific to running a dual disc? Thanks again.
