Hey Drew, cool RT fairing. That should be definitely a one of a kind tsport if it isn't already. I love FXRT's.

I haven't been it touch with you since the rotors came back. All is well with the Tsport now. The wheels rock! My radials fit perfect. I was nervous whether the 160 rear would fit under the 01 fender but all is well!

One of these months. They are hassling me at work asking what that thing is. They know nothing of the FXRT and it's splendor. I'm going our of town for a few weeks so hopefully when I get back I'll get it on.

Sort of. Ride to Monterey tomorrow. Near Crescent City Friday. To Crater Lake area Saturday. Across to Baker City Sunday. To LoLo, MT Monday. Past this point nothing is planned. If you want to join us one of teh days that would be great as we could really use a guide.

I figure we will head across upper idaho into northern WA maybe Wed or so and then back down the coast probably. Any suggested rides to take, please let me know. I am virtually a virgin in Oregon. Only been there once in a van.

The best for me would be next week. Blues fest through Sunday and GF BD on the 4th - yes born on the 4th... My best knowledge would be on the west side so your trip from crater to Baker I'm less knowledgeable. However, I am sure you are going through Grants Pass on the way to Crater. You might be going from Crescent City to I5 via happy camp - awesome ride, but did it in 1980... But if going to Grants pass I would go north to exit 99 on I5. Then take HW 227 south. This connect back up with HW 62 aka crater lake hwy.

Grants pass is ~mp 56 so thats 43 miles north on I5 and you back track south to 62 since 62 is straight north from Medford - mp 30. Probably 70 miles out of the way, but a nice twisty ride in a canyon and you should have a smile.

As late next week coming down the west Oregon side. That works for me. I'll PM my cell - call when you start heading south in WA. I head up and show you some rides down depending on your thoughts - i.e describe them and map locations.

Dyna just got serviced so I'll bring that. I need to air it out a bit

Thanks. I'll drop you a line over the weekend and see if we can hookup. Happy birthday (I think)

It's been a while since I have been to this thread. I have an FXRT fairing here that I am getting ready to put on the Dyna. The T Sport fairing IS NOT for sale. Maybe I'll have time to mock this thing up this weekend. It has a stereo, speakers, gauges, the main bracket that mounts to the tank bolt, a blacked out windshield, etc. I am going to need to fab a bracket to mount the bottom of teh fairing to the down tubes on the frame. I guess I'll mock it up, then send it to my painter.

Has anyone already mounted one of these FXRT's on a 2000-2005 Dyna here? If so did you really need the lower mounting bracket?

One of his tech;s rolled up with a sick softail with stretched bags and rear fender that was super sick. I thought I was done with my softail but after seeing this bike I think I need that setup on the rear.

John's 09 Dyna is so hooked up that it took me quite a while to take it all in . His bags are mounted on quick detach sissy bar hardware so they stick out further than if they were mounted with stock hardware. His set had the quick detach for the bag from the bracket which utilizes hercules pins (or whatever they are called) so they can be taken off in a second. I saw the bag where the pipe hits it and there is no chance of exhaust burning a hole in the material that it is made from. El Rey showed up with his stock bags and I compared and snapped a few shots of the two. I also saw the retro t sport fairing which looked great. Enough for now, I have to get back to work.

Stock bags in the foreground, Conelys in the background

So... After reading this thread. Look for ideas, and such.. I keep coming back to this shot.

Any more details? I'm specifically curious about the rear fender. Im going this route with my street bob.

The other thing, I'm not sure if I want the FXDXT fairing, or, get a FXRT fairing. This bike was acquired for 2up, and 1up, short, and SOME longer trips.

Besides, I'm wondering as well if you've gotten that FXRT fairing mounted, and if so, how it compares to the FXDXT fairing.

One of the best build threads of all time.(imho) I love that the mods are all about the ride not the bling.
