Default 2011 wide glide shocks

Bike has 4,500 miles on the dial. Was riding two up this weekend with the wife. Hit a nasty pavement bulge and bottomed out pretty hard. I figure the stocks shocks are not adjusted properly for two up riding.

Now to my question. I have the service manual cause I like to do my on wrenching. I can't find anywhere in the book about which direction I need to turn the darn things. I'm thinking counter clockwise but wanted to see if anybody else has adjusted the stock shocks for a better ride. I have the tools to get it done.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The info is in your owners manual that came with your bike. It is very confusing the way it is written.

Here it goes:
If you turn it clockwise until it stops, you will be on position 5 which is what you want for 2 up riding. Make sure both shocks are adjusted the same...I made that mistake once and had my off on the back in the twisties and thought I had a flat tire.

People have told me you can get underneath the bike and look under the bottom of the shock cover to see what number its on, but my eyes can't see it...

Use a flashlight, you can see it but need light in there.

Yep if you get down and look up the shock with a light you will be able to see what position its in and which direction you need to go.

Turn the cam all the way counter clock wise until it stops, that would be the lightest setting or position 1.to stiffen it up turn clock wise at each stop to position 2,3,4,5
