I have a propipe and very rarely does it scrape. I have to get a pretty steep lean to drag it. It never drags in normal riding and only drags when I really lean into a corner.
Day to day city riding won't scrape much if at all.
I suggest buying what you like and adjust riding habits to compensate.
i ran a pro pipe on my 08 FXDB for a while and finally had to switch it out to another pipe. it would drag in every corner, everybodys riding style is different. My exhaust bracket actually cracked and i had to call V&H to get a new one. I moved to a thunderheader and am beyond please with the performance of it.
I have an old style pro-pipe on my Dyna and it does drag - the extreme end of the muffler - the baffle cap actually - will touch down but it doesn't dig in and I just shift my butt off the seat to the right and avoid the touch down now. Also nice firm rear suspension gets you a bit more clearance. Good pipe.
Deep Ruble? Thunderheader. It sits higher than the propipe too. I had a Propipe in my Dyna when I got it and repalced it immediately as it was in shoddy condition. I much prefer the Thunderheader for sound and looks. My only complaint is that the black is not very black. I'm gonna have to get it powder coated or send it to jet hot to have it look the way I think it should. I guess I'll use the propipe while the TH is getting done.
I have run fatcats on other bikes I had and they are great too. Another good choice is the bassani road rage.
Pro pipe on my Fat Bob and I am very happy with the look, the sound, and the performance. On my Fat Bob it doesn't scrape but then Fat Bob's have tall suspension for a Harley.
