I picked up the sundowner before an 800 mile trip to the Dragon and while I won't say my wife loved it she wasn't moving around the entire trip. I was much more comfortable too. It is ugly as hell though.
I would save my pennies and go with a Mustang if I had to do it over.
After looking at many seats, I think I like the C&C Sport Tour seat. Looks like it should be much more comfortable than stock, yet actually looks descent. I haven't ruled out anything yet...still looking.
If I went with the C&C seat, should I get vinyl or leather??
If you go with the C&C Sport get your OL a pillow for long rides if your goal truly is her comfort.
While initially it will be an improvement, for longer rides it will not be much different.
My OL has tried several seats with me on rental bikes on trips we have taken and she is always happy to get back on her Mustang throne.
the most comfortable seat on the bassis of *** comfort is the sundowner if you don"t need a back rest been through a bunch of seats unless i need abackrest i use a sundowner

Sounds like this is the route I should go....I'm after comfort here. Unless the OL is with me or I'm going on a longer trip, I'll put the stock seat back on & it's fine for me on shorter trips. I need something to put on when she is riding along...it won't be on the bike all the time, so I'm not too worried about looks. Combining *** comfort & price, looks like the Sundowner is the best choice for my needs.
Make sure you take into account the riding position too! I got a Mustang and hated the riding position (forward and up). It looks like the Sundowner also raises the rider. I wanted something lower and back, and I got that in the C&C SportTour. I have the Vinyl version and it's durable, and easy to care for.

I've been looking for a comfortable solo at a reasonable price. Yesterday, I found posts here referring to SickSaddles (www.sicksaddles.com). Might want to check them out. I'm going to.

Good point...I don't want to be any further forward for sure. That's the thing...the stock seat is a good riding position for me, so I don't want something that's going to screw my riding position up to make the OL more comfy. Further back would be ok, but not forward.
