Default What do you consider high mileage?

Ive got a 94' FXRP with about 35,000 miles. I've heard from some that this is high mileage, and from others that 100k miles is considered high mileage. What's you're opinion? Thanks.

I don't know what others consider high mileage but I've got a 2004 FLSTFI with 85K on the clock.

mileage isn't the issue. Its maintenance thats the issue. 100k miles on a well maintained bike isn't bad but 25k on a bike that never gets any maintenance that worries me.

24,000 on my 2010 Fat Bob. If that's high mileage and there's a problem soon despite having it serviced every 5,000 miles, I'll take my money to a more reliable bike. Just sayin.

Pretty much covers it right there. I would be more concerned about a 10 year old bike with 5000 miles than a 10 year old bike with 50000 miles. Gaskets dry out when bike doesn't run. Carb gets gummed up etc.
My 08 street bob has 29000 kms on the bottom end now and 7000ish on the top. Runs like a dream.
When we tore it apart to put the new jugs and heads on the cams looked pretty much new other than the center where the pushrod was riding and the stock jugs and pistons looked newish.
These twin cam engines will last 100000 miles properly maintained.

It is a perception thing in my opinion. There are thousands of 5, 10 and 20 + year old Harley Davidsons with a few hundred to a few thousand miles on them. Bought in the moment of passion but did not become a passion.

To some people, seeing a bike that was actually used for a long enough period of time to rack up miles is outside the norm. My kid bought his Nightster when it was 3 years old and it had 36 miles on it. The guy bought it, rode it home, had the crap scared out of him and never rode it again.

Depends if buying anything over 10,000 is high but when selling you're going to see 10,000 per year I've had the bike which is normal milage. Maintenance is more important than miles but noobs just look at milage.

18 year old bike, that only equals 1945 miles a year. Not a lot of mileage. Not particularly a lot of miles on an HD V Twin. If it has been well maintained, it is just hitting its stride. Those who say that 35K is high miles on a bike, are, well lets just say uninformed.

Default maintenance more important

I agree with maintenance being more important. I've bought used bikes which were low mileage but I had to change the tires and gaskets due to age.

I got 105 000km and as it is now, a lot more to come, as long as you take good care of the bike I guess.. I ve seen some with more than a 150 000km!
