EVO Dyna Headlight swap?

EVO Dyna Headlight swap?
Has anyone tried to install the current style headlight on an older narrow glide? I want to try it on my 96' FXD. Wondering if the halogen bulb puts any stress (current wise) on my stock wiring harness? I'm assuming the socket at the end of the harness will be different also.
I'm looking for the parts. I listed in the "wanted to buy" section but only got 5 hits:
Looking for complete assembly from a new narrow glide FXD / FXDL / FXDC / FXDB. (Not Wide Glide).
Need housing (black or chrome housing is good), trim ring, lens/bulb, wire harness or pigtail with socket for bulb attached, mounting standoff.

Well it's been done now. Got the whole 2006 lamp assembly on Ebay for about $50. Fabricated a filler piece to clean up the upper triple tree. Overall a fairly easy install.

I did a similar switch on my 02 FXD and 02 FXDL. I ended up using Custom Sportster headlight and mount on both of mine. I was lucky enough that the headlight wiring harness plugged right in. I used the factory chrome filler piece off of a Sportster Custom to finish off the upper triple trees. The part number is 67861-96 list $38.50 Zans price $24.90.
