I've been looking for a novelty/different horn for my 2009 Super Glide. I'm wanting one that you can record your own sound, preferably. I know the sound that'll be recorded, just need to find the right equipment. If anyone knows where you can find this stuff please let me know.
Sorry I'm just now getting back to forums. Thanks for the welcome. The sound I'm wanting to record is a .50 cal machine gun. I know it's weird . . . LOL.
The problem you'll face is that any device that allows recorded sounds to play is going to play through a speaker. And a speaker of that small of a size (assuming you want it to fit in the horn location) isn't going to be very loud. You'd be looking at a whole speaker, amp set up to carry any sound to a significant setup where someone would actually hear it in traffic.
I'm guessing you will need a cop bike setup with amp and siren speaker to make that work. Stuff you need should be easy to find on flea bay. Like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Whelen-Siren...-/141195043694
and this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Whelen-Siren...41195043694%26
You will need to run a crash bar to mount the speaker and need a good electronics technician who can modify wiring to your recorder.
Make sure you post the results.

Interesting project.
Personlly every time I have ever remembred that I have a horn, and try to use it(at night), I never remember where the button is and usually end up scrolling thorugh the trip meter.
My old 1SG is a police officer. He said in MD there's no sound restriction on the horn's sound. He asked why I was asking about it and then when I told him. His next response was, " Why didn't I think about who I was talking to before I answered. " LOL
