Default thunderheader install problems, hitting mids 2002 fxdx

hey guys,
i was able to pick up a used (gently and jet coated) t-header for a great price. trying to install right now. i got the unit up to the cylinders and lined up ok. in order for me to get it in place i had to remove the footpeg/rear brake assembly. now the issue that i'm having is i cant get the foot peg assembly back on without it hitting the pipe. i have what appears to be the stock foot peg mount and brake lever. looking into the part numbers on rich products website i see 1993-1998 is part number 1022 and 1999-2005 is part number 1026. i'm attempting to contact the seller to find out what year his dyna was...when i purchased he said all dynas up to 05 were the same guess i should ahve dug a little deeper.. i'm thinking that i might have the wrong pipe.

any ideas? input? my bike is an 02 in case you didn't catch that.

thanks guys.

Pretty sure you have to mount the pipe with the peg and pedal mounted. The pipe will block you from putting it on after it is on.

I installed mine with foot peg/ brake pedal in place, you should need to remove them.

with them in place i couldn't get the pipe on, thats why i removed them. i think i have the wrong part# pipe. it came off a custom built bike and the seller said it should fit all dynas up to 05. i might be selling it i guess.

Incorrect Exhaust for your year bike if your mids don't fit after the install
