Last night I had to swap out exhaust gaskets and happen to notice this on front pipe and brake lever. Seems the brake is resting against pipe when not engaged and doing a pretty good job of nearly grinding a hole in my pipe.
Can the pedal be readjusted so it leans more forward and not resting on the front pipe? Any other suggestions? Thanks for any feedback.

I could but I dont think that would affect the brake pedal...that would just affect the floorboard right?Originally Posted by kishstl
Can you add a spacer to the floorboard mounts to move it out slightly? I had to add them for my new pipes.

I just read a thread a few minutes ago about motor mounts and a guy said a worn out motor mount was allowing his exhaust to make contact with the primary case (on the other side of the bike obviously).
Could that be it?

You should be able to readjust your pipe angle at the head and transmission mount. Not sure what pipes your running, I bought used Thunderheader and the heatshields rubbed on the cam cover and almost touched the pedal, all pipes are not the same. If you cant get enough adjustment you should have extra clearance now with the already made flat spot on the pedal where it contacted. You wont see it and it wont compromise any integrity.

I had the same problem. I took the pedal off and ground some metal off to create enough clearance. I was pretty irritated that I needed to do that and generally disappointed with the fit of those pipes. I like the performance and sound enough to deal with it though.

ExploreI loosened all the bolts as Bagman1 suggested and pulled pipe outward near tranny mount and tightened everything back down. Didnt think that would work but so far it seems to. I can now see a thread of daylight between pedal and pipe so thats good. Not sure if its hitting when motor vibrates but I cant see it hitting when idling so Ill live with it and just keep an eye on it. Thanks for the input everybody.
