I'm just not a fan of apes with a windshield on a Wide Glide but if you must do them together 12” bars with a shield looks ok.

 

The previous owner had a QD memphis shades on the bike and I could never get rid of the buffeting enough to make it worthwile, my head shook so bad I couldn't focus on anything. The wind isn't bad on the freeway until you get to 75-80mph. IMO, windshields and apes don't belong together (I consider apes to be 15-16" or higher), two different styles that don't compliment each other very well.
