A lot of things, not all "outlaw" (better off calling then club as Outlaw refers to a particular club which didn't/doesn't [to my knowledge] use this style) are black. Not all are dynas (many in big "power clubs" are sporties or softails). Not all run cafe/quarter fairings.
What makes a "club" style bike is the quintessential combination of form and function. Tall shocks maybe for those that lean hard. Tall risers for good control. Narrow bars for high speed lane splitting. 2>1 exhaust for power. Not all of these things are "required." many however are part of what is considered to be the Club Bike.
Go to a run in Ca, and you will notice club bikes range from Sporties to Ultra Classics....
In my chapter we have Dynas, Softails, Nighttrain, Street Glide, Road king, Ultra Classic.....So what really is a club"outlaw" bike....
Functional suspension, tall rigid bars for comfort and control, mid controls, fairing to hide said bars, 2-1 pipe for power and style, big motor and brakes, mostly blacked out so you can spend your time riding vs cleaning and posing. Here's my version. Still working on the brakes and motor.
With all due respect, that has to be some of the dumbest BS I have heard yet.
What is a non-functional suspension? Stock?
Are you trying to say those of us that don't buy into the blacked out wanna-be look are all posers?
Once upon a time blacked out was considered outlaw perhaps, but now-a-days it seems like all the johnny come latelies think it makes them look badass...whatever the hell that is...
I get so sick and tired of people that want to label anyone that does not share their ideal perception of what a "biker" is suppose to look like, as a poser or some other dumbass label.
While not really my style I think that style of bike looks badass. In a sea of chromed out trophy bikes polished to perfection I find it refreshing to see something different. The Mods these dudes are doing seem to be motivated by performance rather than putting as much chrome and bolt on crap as you can. They are real motorcycles.
And it also seem they can actually ride the **** out of them. Respect.

My bike is black, but not blacked out. Does that mean I think it makes me look bad ***? No, I just like black because it looks good with almost any color.
The guys in the video are all nor cal dudes, the style is big up there, as well as functional as you can see.
cant we have a thread without someone getting thier panties in a twist, good christ....
ryderbikers description is a good one....maybe "functional" was a poor choice of word but you get the point, it all comes down to "performance parts/or mods on any bike" that gets ridden hard it doesnt necessarily have to be a dyna but as people know the dyna is the most commonly used

Sure, when we can have a thread without labeling those that don't conform as posers, guess you missed my point.
Had nothing to do with black bikes, only those that think anything else is a poser, which is basically what he said, that does **** me off.
