I've been in love with the "outlaw/club" style ever since I first saw one online 5 or 6 years ago. When I bought my bike, I was already dead set on improving functionality to better beat the **** out of it/ ride it long and hard with max comfort. I just happened to decide on another bike over the Dyna I went to look at. I basically did all the things I was set on doing to the dyna though, swapped the OEM stuff for more suitable parts; 2;1 pipes, taller, narrow bars, fairing, more versitile suspension, lighter wheels, better tires,... I plan on doing the same stuff to my girl's sportster if she ever let's me get her one. Of course some day I'll get around to getting that Dyna too...

And I said mostly blacked out. I've seen a lot I bikes with really nice paint. Generally, most guys have blacked out parts but it isnt a requirement. I really like the bikes that have color matched frame, other than black of course. I'm planning on painting mine after I get the motor done.

I let my insurance lapse for a month and paid my registration late because I was broke last year. I'd say in California that makes me an outlaw. Atleast the CHP was real pissy about it.

outlaw?

well, i don't consider myself an outlaw and at 63 years old not sure i would have much of that "outlaw" in me anymore, have been in jail 3 times but only over night each time, outlaw? naw. i have owned and rode harleys since my first iron head sporty in '72 and owned probably 5 different styles of harleys. now i can say this, this dyna FLD is by far the best handling, most agile and fun bike i have ever owned. there should be a picture in my CP. that said, am i an outlaw? nope but i sure do like the feeling and the freedom i get when i ride. i am in the process of blacking out the scoot, not because i want to look bad but because i don't care for all the chrome. this dyna will be the last bike i own and i hope to be riding well into my 80s. hey the bike is a chick magnet
