Replaced wheel bearings, checked tire pressure. neck bearings and fall away are good. Replaced front rotor. Tread facing correct way....
Bike still dives left or right equally with very minimal imput on bars. Its actually scary and I have ridden a lot of bikes.
Today I noticed the front yire max load is 538 pounds. My dyna wet is 617 pounds. So with me on the bike im 200 pounds over the front tire load rating.
What will happen. What steering characteristics would I experience. Front and rear tire together are over 1000 lbs. How am I out of load rating. Thats.what im thinking now.
Unless you ride around in just your front tire, you're not over your limit. Back tire is probably 700 lbs. or better. The load is divided with a bias to the rear when you are on the bike.
Different tires have different shapes and they can/do have an effect on handleing. Is likely the new rear tire has a steeper angle off center then previous tire.
Tires made for handling are more rounded with not as much as a defined shoulder. They will lean over without a problem. The stock Harley tires tend to have a pronounced shoulder and you have to lean on them more to get them to go. That is probably all you are feeling. If everything is tight and the tire pressure is ok, probably that is the difference you are feeling.
Have you had radial tires on the bike before ? I am on my second rear Michelin Pilot I. Wish I could get more of them. Anyway, the cornering of radial ply tires is a lot easier than bias ply tires.
I'm not saying there is or isn't anything wrong with your bike but radials ride differently than bias period.
It just sees that the tires wollow before setting onto the line. Also they just dive. Licking it back up tomm so we will see whats up. Takinh it to Harley for them to check it too
Ok. So picked it up. They had 3 different people ride it. Non took it on the highway and they all said it was straight.
I take it on the highway and at 60mph when you turn it wollows before setting in turn. At 70 its worse at 80 is scary at 90 I turned around and took it back.
I just ordered standard metzler tires and said dont use dyna beads. I want regular wheel weights.
Trying to explain it... When u slighty turn at or above 60. The bike snakes and wollows before setting in turns. What could that be. How could tires do this??

Bingo. When I installed Michelin Commander II's I immediately noticed a difference which I much prefer. If find that a stickier and more well rounded tire handles much better for me. It seems like it will take you a bit to get used to it. If you were running stock tires before they are very flat compared to most other tires.
