I will be without a computer on the trip as I have a cell phone but not a smart phone. Hopefully can get a couple of pics even with out my own camera handy. Good luck to you on finding a seat that works for you. As far as the ride being both awesome and intimidating yeah I agree totally. Post results when you get your seat . id like to know what you ended up getting and how you liked it.

all the best...

I just picked up new pegs, grips, jacket, and helmet so the seat is on hold for a bit. But it will give me more time to research. Once I pull the trigger I will post pics.

No computer, or way to stay connected? I think that will be a blessing. That, a monster trip, and family to boot. Priceless. Nice.

I bought a LePera Cherokee seat last fall for my 08 Wide Glide. It looks great, but is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever had. Feels like I am riding on an old rigid shovelhead. Nothing wrong with a rigid shovelhead, but my old azz needs some padding back there. Picked up a Mustang squareback on ebay and while it is more comfortable than the LePera, it still is not as comfortable as the STOCK HD seat.

I thought the stock seat of my 2012 Switchback was the best seat I had every ridden on (and it probably was.) But the first time I went to Muskegon this spring, I had back pain aftewards for about a week (as I revealed in another thread, I'll be 59 on Sept. 1.) So, I got the HD Signature Seat with backrest, which lists for $550 and the dealer let me have for $440 (and even let me take a demo one for a week while I waited for mine to come in.) Two trips to Muskegon, and elsewhere, and back and forth to work for the past month since and I have had zero back pain from riding the bike. There might be better buys out there, but this seat surely does it for me. And the wfe likes it better, too!
