Need opinions, I have a 05 1200C and will be replacing the seat. Which seat would you pick between a Mustang Day Tripper or a Lepera
Daytona. Thanks in advance for your opinions
My Mustang seat was a 1 hour seat, at best. Mustang seat designer at Sturgis seemed to think there was nothing wrong with being just a one hour seat. It's kinda like my Willie Johnson. Looks great but doesn't live up to expectations all the time. I'll never buy another Mustang; mediocre product and smartass employees.
Mustang has a ten day satisfaction garuntee. Just send it back in ten days or less, tell them your *** hated it, and they give you your money back. Why didn't you just return it??
2. Return Policy for Seats Purchased Directly from Mustang:
Mustang has been making comfortable motorcycle seats for over 25 years and we know that a picture of a seat can look good in a catalog or on a website. A seat can also feel good just out of the box or on a showroom floor for a minute or two. You may buy a seat for looks--but you keep it for comfort.
The proof (as they say) is in the pudding and, with a motorcycle seat, this means you have to ride 100 miles or more on it to really know how it feels! If you read some of our hundreds of unsolicited customer comments on our website, you will understand why Mustang offers the best deal in the motorcycle industry: Ride It--You'll Love It!
If you buy a seat directly from Mustang (whether online, by telephone or fax), you have up to 10 days after receiving the seat to return it. Just keep the original box and be sure to keep the seat in perfect condition (no scratches, scuffs, rips, etc.--as with any product you might need to return).
If, for any reason, your new Mustang seat is not to your liking, call us immediately (within 10 days of receipt) and discuss the nature of the problem with a Mustang customer service representative. We will send you a "Return Goods Authorization" form that must be included when returning the seat.
You would then simply put the seat back into the original packaging and send it to us via UPS, FedEx or the Postal Service. Per your instructions, we will either exchange it for another style or credit your charge card for the price of the seat.
Warranty Saddles: Basepan, foam and hardware of the Corbin saddle is warranted to the original owner for life. Cover materials and workmanship are warranted for one year from date of receipt.
Product will only be authorized to be shipped back, freight pre-paid for refining of shape or to replace / rectify defective parts. In cases where a rework requires a new cover, a recover charge will be applied.
Warranty Fiberglass: Structural integrity of Corbin fiberglass components are warranted to the original owner for life. Finish and paint are warranted against manufacturing defect for one year. Damage to product and/or painted surfaces from outside forces or misuse is specifically not covered under warranty.
Cash or credit refunds are NOT available. In the rare circumstances where a product is authorized to be returned for refund, a 15% restocking fee will apply.
All goods being handled for customer service consideration must be accompanied by a Corbin receipt and a Return Material Authorization number (RMA).
After reading there return policy, which basically consisted of "Blow us sucker, we ain't giving you your money back, even if you hate the seat" I headed over to the Mustang site.
I haven't gotten the mustang yet, but the beauty of it is, that if I hate it, I just box it up and send it back. Even in that case, I'd still be hesitant to try the Corbin as they basically have no return policy whatsoever, and if you hate it, you're just stuck with a 600 to a 900 dollar seat.
An important part of picking a seat is 1) how much you weigh and how big you are, 2) what kind of riding you do. I like leather; don't like to sweat on long rides. Corbin uses good leather and they stand behind their saddles. I've heard nothing but good things about the mustang. HD has been selling some nice looking saddles at a reasonable price. One thing for sure a bad saddle is miserable. Choose informed.
