I have a 2002 WG that sat for about 6 months, I finally got a chance to ride and now I am having problems, it will start but wont idle, must give it a little throotle, i can get on the road but sounds like maybe one cylinder is kicking in and out, put some sea foam ran for about hour on the road, no change, put new plugs and wire still no change. any help would be appriechiated.

 

Carbed or FI? 6 months isnt that long, but if you had questionable gas before....I would drain tank and refill with premium. If that doesnt work and if carbed....drop your float bowl and see if there is debris in the bowl. If there is, it probably got sucked into your slow jets... clean em out.

I'd also get rid of the gas in the tank. Get some fresh premium gas. Fresh set of spark plugs and clean out the float bowl and jet passages. My 02 sits layed up from the middle of Nov. to about mid March. even after all the prepping for winter storage it still wakes up a bit rough. Balking , firing on one cylinder, and running rough. In about a week's time all the cobwebs are gone and she runs great. When starting a carbed bike you have to push in the enrichener **** when the engine warms up.
