A small hole drilled on the back (bottom) side if the case will allow the moisture to escape and dry out.

My Speedo and gas gauge does it. HD told me I should not pressure wash it. I told them I only hand wash it!
When they did my major service and washed it, surprise, both were full of moisture! I asked them to warranty both of them because when the sun hits them, the underside is so badly filmed, you can not see through them.
Their reply: "we don't warranty fogged speedos" and it was from pressure washing it! Even after I showed them the moisture after THEY washed it.

Never tried it but it sounds like a good idea

Also blow drying the bike dry can cause this.

I never pressure washed mine and it always fogged no matter what. I solved the problem by replacing it with a far superior Dakota Digital combo tach/speedo. No more fogging.

That is sweet. What did that set you back? Where did you get it?

I can tell you this much, the pressure washer theory is total BS. I have have my bike for two and a half years and it has only been washed twice (both times by the dealer). I ride my bike far to much to wash it. I do wipe it down with Harley Gloss at least once a week. The bike does spend a majority of the time outside because I ride it rain or shine. The humidity here in MD is really high, when I walk out to my bike in the morning I often have to wipe my seat down because it is covered in water. The same is said for my speedo. Sometimes the speedo will have the fog your talking about then, sometimes I don't get it until I am leaving work and themps outside are 95+ with no rain around for hours or days.

So unless the gage is made as a pressure tight device, like a diving watch, moisture is going to fine its way into anything and you will end up with the fog.

About $350 or less from various vendors,I bought mine last year factory direct from Dakota. It incorporates all your current features and adds several more.

Most of 'em do it....put the bike away damp it will fog, wash it it will fog, ride in the rain it will fog. Temperature changes it will fog.

...but it goes away too.
