Default installed passenger pegs

I installed passenger pegs and mount brackets. The instruction for the mount brackets say to tighten the 4 bolts for both sides to torque spec of between 25-35 ft/lb. I got the right side (non belt guard) to 25-35 ft/lb but the left side was hard to fit in to tighten to 25-35ft/lb. So I just tighten as best as I can. Is it really necessary to tighten to 25-35 ft/lb? I presume many people just tighten as best as they can and be on their way. Is disaster waiting to happen with this bike vibration?

25-35 ft/lb aint all that much in reality... way back when i did mine, i did use blue loctite largely cause i knew they weren't comming off... you should be fine though... in theory... every things in theory lol... check 'em after a few trips to be sure... if they haven't loosened up by 500 miles, ur good

I did not use any loctite but thought of it (and did not have any on hand lol) but mainly did not use loctite cuz I may ditch the pass mount bracket down the road. Who knows this Bob is a one seater...yeah I got a Fat Bob seat to install today for the wife and kids to go job riding. Anyway the reason why I ask if its important to get 25-35 ft/lb is because I am starting to strip the head on the screw a little and don't want to bugger up any worse...this space is insane. I will have to check it out after 500 miles but removing the belt guard is quick too but needless. I think I can check if the screws are tight by checking the movement of the mount bracket?

The torque is to keep them from spinning when your passenger has their foot on it applying pressure. Not for ride vibration.

I don't like those torx fasteners anyway, they are easy to strip imo. They just need to be tight it's no big deal really. If I ever need to remove mine for whatever reason I would replace the stock bolts with either SS allen or hex head bolts and I would use blue locktite.

just be sure to keep an eye on the bolts to make sure one or both are not backing out.

A lot of ppl F'up by not getting a good bite between the tool and the fastener

I used a short torx bit with a wrench
