I have a 2012 Fat Bob & I put the 56267-09 pull back Risers. And I having the same problem as many others about the bars twisting. Quite a few people are talking about these poly Bushings for the cure. Does anybody know the part number & where I can get them?
Poly bushings will help, but the twisting is related more to the type of handlebar clamp you are using, and how well it is torqed down. With my 9" risers, I used to get this a lot, but tightening the top/front bolts first, then the bottom bolts of the clamp, and torquing to the required spec seem to reduce the twist. Some blue locktite between the bars and clamp doesnt hurt either.
Of course...the ultimate solution is to get some handlebars with integrated risers.
Glad I found this thread I was looking at getting a pair but now I will have to rethink what to do and maybe go with bar and riser in one like DesertDyna mention but it will certainly be more money.
look on ebay there are heaps of them, I just ordered off ebay, I didn't have to much of a problem to begin with but I always do it on my rides, no issues so far, big part of it in my view is the way people hold onto there bars,
Think of it in terms of a car steering wheel you done hold that with a death grip so why do it on a motor cycle, a relaxed grip that allows you to apply pressure to turn etc,
Also for anyone that doesn't do it learn to push steer and not pull steer, I believe this is also a cause of issues for people.
Then I got some LA Choppers 5.5" reverse clamp risers and because they aren't connected with a center clamp I was able to spread them apart more than the stock setup and that cured the twisting.
Probably would have been easier and cheaper to do like stated above and just get bars with integrated risers but I couldn't find any with the pullback combo I wanted.
