A couple of months ago I had stuck a picture of my wheels on my street bob. I put on a 21" front and 18" om the rear. The rim itself is powdercoated red and the spokes and hubs are chrome. I've been brainstormin about what else I shoude have powdercoat red to kinda bring out the rims a lil. I dont wanna powdercoat anything real big red, just sorta suttle things so the red on the rims dont get too "lonely". Now my head hurts and am turnin to you guys for help. Give me some ideas. Thanks!!!
You could coat your speedometer trim ring, Fuel gauge, and gas cap. Or buy custom ones and coat them. Buy a new derby cover with a raised design of some sort on it and color the raised portion red leaving the rest of the cover black, silver, whatever.
First off, your bike looks real nice as is. If it was me, I wouldn't powdercoat anything else. However, I would add a small bit of red to balance it out. My ideas: Some subtle striping on the tank. Red spark plug wires. I see that your air cleaner cover is black. Some red striping on it would look really good and maybe on the horn cover as well to balance it out. Just my 2 cents.
try some sumax[taylor] plug wires in red...also might wanna p/c your shock springs, oil filler cover, maybe do some old school red grips/solo seat...i like the look youre going for...keep us posted on what you come up with!
Hmmm, your bike looks real familiar, except for the taller apes. I too have powdercoated my rims red. I have the red wires some have suggested and it does add that little touch your are looking for. I am going to get some 1959-1960 emblems which have red in them and replace the stock tank emblems with them. And I have whitewall paint coming, should be here this next week. After that I am done with the red I think.
By the way, bike looks good.
