I i am in the process of buying a 02 Dyna Defender, it has the Speedo and Tach mounted on the bars as you know... will the 2 gauges fit in a Dyna Low Rider tank dash?... the Police tank dash looks like crap and i told the OL i would fix it...
You need a new tank. Do a search in Google: fxd to
low rider tank, fxd to fxdb tank swap, fxd to fxwg tank and after each search put HD forums. Be prepared to spend some $$$. Joker machine now makes a relocate mount. I did the street Bob tank and wide glide console swap...good luck.
i've done the research, your looking min at about 350 bucks for the joker machine and that just puts the speedo down on the left tree... tank, your looking, eh if i remember right, 500 plus what ever cost ur gonna need to get it painted... that was my results anyway... that and also the new 2-1 style speedo n tach wont fit ur bike as they are run off of the ecm as opposed to being mechanical like urs currently are... but best of luck to you... if you figure out a way, please post how you do it
OK what about leaving the speedo and tach and just getting a new tank dash...the one on the Defender is just plain UGLY...WHat other Dyna of the years around 2002 has the speedo on the bars....
I believe the FXDX's had a speedo n tach, each with their own gaugle cups on the bars... the FXD and i think the DC had bar mounted speedo's... to my understanding, the DXT was a toured out version of the DX so it might have bar mounted gauges... if i'm wrong, someone please correct me on the DXT part
