is the starter an aftermarket starter? i see you kept the warranty paper work very good. just make sure that this bike is charging, and keepinng your battery hot, or you may not be out of the woods yet. eletrical problems can be a little tricky at times.

Good idea! Will do. The battery is currently out of the bike, I'll hook up my battery tender. Thanks.

i'm saying is to make sure the m/c charing system is working as it should. the tender is a good idea for now, i'm a big fan of a slow charge. nothing like doing things correct.

When back together and the engine is running, your battery should be seeing 13.8-14.1 volts. That shows that the alternator is working. If it reads 12volts or less, it's not. Simple test to verify the charging system is functioning. tp dd50

Ah, got it. What is a good battery charger, as opposed to the battery tender? Any good brands out there?

Have an Everstart from Wallyworld. 2A, 10A and 50A. The 2A will do a good overnight charge on the bike. The 10A will fast charge a bike battery or overnight a car's. The 50A is used to start a dead battery car. Kinda iffy to use 50A on a bikes electrical system.....Don't recommend that mode, but did use it once in a pressured situation.

Used all three modes on bikes and cars, always with success. tp dd50

most any battery charger is fine, a slow charge is the best. when the charger starts charging you show be able to watch the needle move from a high number to a low number and then cut off, usually they have a green light indicating a full charge.

if a jumpstart worked, the starter is fine. sounds like a bad battery or cable. it only takes a few volts for the lights and solenoids to work,it takes a lot more to turn the starter. could be as simple as a loose or bad batt cable not carrying enough amps.
