If you have the Battery Tender branded unit, you're good. None better. Keeping the battery in a fully-charged status is the way to go. I keep my BT Jr hooked-up when my bike is 'resting'.

Could you explain why you think the starter is good if a jump-start worked? Wait, when I say jump-start, I don't mean jumper cables, but rather pushing the bike up to some (relative) speed, jumping on the seat and popping the clutch.

That is a "push" start, not a jump start.

A "jump" start involves jumper cables.

It's your starter because your getting power from the battery .... , if your lights go down when you go to start it then it's your battery if when you try to start it and the light's don't change then it's your starter ......

LOL... Where I'm from, in a car, it would be a push start. On a bike its a jump start. Using jumper cables, or "booster cables" is known as a boost or a boost-start. Sorry, but that's how we say it from my neck of the woods

Well, everywhere else using jumper cables is a jump start.
