Went out to start the bike today and everything worked fine. Fuel pump primed all the reg bells and whistle did what they were supposed to do. Go and hit start button and nothing. I mean nothing. No clicks ,grinds, nothing at all. So I rocked the switch back and forth hit the on off once or twice more and it started right up. Happened again a little later in the day. Except hit start nothing then I hit it again and it fired up. So what do you guys think. It's a 07 st bob with about 30,000 on the clock. All help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you been working on the right hand controls or the ignition switch lately?
Sounds to me you have a bad connection in the starter circuit (ignition switch, engine stop switch, start switch).

Check your starter relay, mine did the same thing awhile back.

Starter Relay would be my first guess as well, Is your bike equiped with a security fob, if it is might want to check the battery in the FOB had that happen to me once.

sounds like a bad start switch or maybe the kill switch but from what you said it really sounds like the start switch

If the switches and relay checks out, look at the batter cables including the ground.

Thanks for all the advise. Going to get a new relay. And go from there. Had the switch apart all wires look good. If it was the relay wouldnt it not start at all? Instead of only sometimes.

When mine was acting up it was hit and miss. I could hit the start button 3 times in a row with nothing happening, then the 4th time it would start.
