Also want to add, I'm about the same size as you, and agree on the width of the badlander. All the leperas are much narrower which put my legs in a more comfortable position.
you are right the le pera seats do run narrow and provide decent leg position
I'm looking for a minimalist 2 up seat that looks cool, and is comfortable for both rider and passenger. sounds like maybe that is asking for too much.
Good info here. Does anyone know if the C&C solo seat sits you back and lower than say a stock Harley seat. Love the look of those seats, but like you guys are saying, comfort is the main issue here. Got some Yaffe 14' monkey bars and have them pushed almost all the way forward. I like it that way but I'm wondering if going back and lower will be stretching a bit more that I want too.
if your spines jacked you should go for something with a bucket. The sundowners super comfy but definitely not the best looking seat around. I went from stock to the sundowner and now have the mustang vintage with backrest. its lower than the sundowner, sets you back farther, narrower in the front and every bit as comfortable... although both offer all day comfort, my first pick would be the mustang
I replaced my stock seat with the mustang wide tripper seat with backreast I am able to ride all day, something about the backrest can tell the difference when the backrest is not in use.
Find a company to size you up on your bike and rebuild your current seat. Same price as a new seat and this will be custom fit to your size/weight/bike.
...I guess it doesn't help that my spine in completely jacked up from the Marine Corps
My spine is pretty messed up also from my time in the corps.
I didn't want a fugly looking backrest on my seat, I ended up going with a C&C fastback.
It looks slick and gives some good lower back support. It's not the softest thing in the world but it's a long way from terrible.
