So does the plant being shut down mean parts will be hard to find?
Just thought that I would change things up a bit, I know good try.
I work for a union. I am in engineering, working out of a crafts union. Now I will say this, in my case it sucks very bad. The crafts people are for themselves and would rather kiss us "eng. types off", so when the negotiations come up, they only worry about themselves and not us. Well that is ok, I will as I always have take care of myself. Another thing that burns me about my union is that I pay a nice amount of "Dues" and well they go to the "general fund I assume". Why is it that every year they go up? Greed is the root of all evel and well....... One last thing, this is the one thing that will for always crank me to no end. How in the hell can the union take my "Dues" and pay for propaganda for particular Government poeple trying to get elected and I have no say in which direction the money goes? Then they send me papers in the mail telling me who to vote for or who I should vote for! interesting, talk about special interest groups. I understand some of this, but I will never agree to it.
Basically, there are good and bad things to everything. I do not fault anyone who stands up for the unions because I do not know thier situation, and maybe the union is very good to them. I also do not faultthose against the unions, they have thier points also. I admire all of you for standing up for what you believe in, this is what this great country is all about.
Wheh, Ok so back to my original quesition, seriously, does this mean parts will be hard to get?
Cav, I tend to think that you will be able to thank our Government.
As for someone wanting to be a scab, you think you big ones, go cross their picket line. Oh, please have some one video your efforts and post them. I for one would like to see that.
I was joking about the Scab thing. I'm just getting a kick out of posting in this thread. I thought the post was about the MoCo? This one kind of went off on a tangent....don't ya think?
Where you work is the gamble you take union or non-union. Your job is not guarantied where you work. If the company wants to cut back to make a profit with little workers as possible it will.

sure did, and look who started it .go for the scab thing. get pics of crossing,LOL.
Unions are totally useless.......organized welfare for those who don't wish to be responsible for their own efforts....[:'(]
Well said!
It was great to see how Northwest Airlines destroyed the mechanics union a few years ago. The mechanics had their asses handed to them. Now, they're ALL out of jobs. Justice is served. Every time a union plays hardball, they deserve to be crushed.
The HD shutdown made local news tv this morning. Production will be suspended on Touring and Softail models. Now it looks like everything.Dealers are worried about spare parts. I've got a newFLSTC with less than 200 miles on it.
Good thing I still have my Kawasaki 1200!In reality, this whole thing sucks for bikers and workers. I hope it gets resolved soon.
