DON'T BUY IT. It's HORRIBLE.
It handles very well, it is comfortable for touring (did 250+ mile days on stock seat many times, now with Sundowner I'll double that). There's plenty of chrome right out of the box, especially the chromed primary cover, chromed cam cover, gears chrome cover and horn cover.
Mid control are perfect for the city tight manouverability requirements and if you want to go very aggressive riding on twisties. With a few hundred $ add the hgwy pegs and you relax your legs on long trips.
Great seating position. I use easy brackets for saddlebags and QD windshield. Now I have two bikes in one.
Stock 96" engine is fine, it pulls better than stock 103" Touring anyways. If you do Stage 1+ cam and tune, you have already a little hot rod.
It looks awesome. I get compliments on my all the time.
Basically a Super Glide is a great start if you like the style. The Street Bob is also if you like that style. Both are pretty much a blank, cheap canvas to work with for a big bike. The other 3 Dynas are pretty much defined in thier direction. Take it for what it's worth.
My first Harley, is my 2012 FXDC. Wasn't sure at first, but by 2000 miles, I Knew it was mine and mine alone. Every time I cranked the bike it grew on me a little more each time.
No it is not the ZZR1200, (I came off a 2008 Hayabusa), but that is apples to oranges.
I rode basically every bike in the HD lineup before I traded this past spring. Overall, the FXDC was the most comfortable bike, handled awesome, and looks like a Harley should straight out of the box.
A few modifications and a stage 1 with a good tune & you're all set. You can customize it however you choose. I think it's the most bang for your buck in the HD lineup, hands down. To me, forward controls are a must mod, but that's up to you and what works best for you.
Only somewhat negative thing I could say about it is that you can tour with it if it's set up right, but if you were planning on touring 2 up with a lot of **** with you...get a touring bike.
People saying it's a Sporty on steroids...not even close. I've had a Sporty, and the Dyna is way more bike in every aspect. No comparison. Handles just as well if not better, loads more torque, much better ride, way more comfortable, etc.
Love my FXDC! Pic of mine is in my sig. Get one, you won't be disappointed.
I am seriously diggin that swingarm bag. Whered you score that thing?
Licks Cycles dyna solo bag. It has held up remarkably well over the last 3 years. It works with the passenger pegs. Not a lot of room in it, but it is perfect for the small things, ie: wallet, gloves, small snack, pressure gauge, etc...(i wouldn't keep my fob in there), lmao

Good info...thanks for sharing. I've been wanting a swingarm bag for a long time, but none I have found work with the passenger pegs. How does it mount?
Just put a deposit on a 2013 and will take delivery next April, big blue pearl. Always wanted a superglide for its stripped look and lower cost. Rode a Road King and loved it for its comfort and style but thought it was too heavy for me...
Bought a 2012 Super Glide Customer in June...my first bike in over 30 years. I put saddlebags and quick detach windshield. The bike was great riding solo but cramped for me two up. Also my wife wasn't comfortable on rides over an hour. I thought about beefing up the suspension, getting a new seat, putting on forward controls etc....but ended up trading for a Road King earlier this month.
So...I would still be riding the FXDC except I am doing two up about half of the time. I wish I could afford both.......
