One of the decorative mods I'm considering is the derby cover. I've narrowed it down to a few but was wondering if these two slotted covers would work. The later twin cam derby gasket is a solid disk, so the slots wouldn't seem to do anything anyway. Is there any reason why the slots would cause a problem?
I'm not sure if the slots are decorative or not. The first one is made by Accutronix and is called "vented". I assume it is actually vented.
The second one is from Drag Specialties and is just called slotted. I'm inclined to believe these slots are purely decorative.
The Accutronix part is billet aluminum while the Drag Speciaties part is steel. The DS part also matches a horn cover that I already bought. It might be too much to match the pieces anyway (although I'll eventually relocate the horn and coul, and ditch the cover completely.)
The damn derby cover is such a big item (visually) that I'm really trying to be careful with the choice. The wrong one will stick out like a sore thumb. (Kind of like the stock one.)
I would think they wouldn't be open, but I've never seen one. Just was thinking I would something more than a gasket covering the opening. Either way, I have changed mine a bunch of times. Sure I will change it again. Unless....the open primary makes its way on my bike.
MX pegs. i bought a set and love them!!! their basically mini floorboards.
EDIT: Heres the ones i bought. only downfall to them is that i couldnt ride with my steel toe boots on. but being that its only a 5 minute swap to regular pegs, i can live with it.
