I'm planning on taking some trips this spring and need some ideas on how to pack my Bob.
I've got the motherwell rack, but will probably need to add a sissy bar (I'm thinking a tall one) to strap everything down. I want something where I can remove it all when I get to my destination.
I have a tall sissy bar and I bought a setup from Carrol leather it goes over the bar and has a roll that goes with it and a cover for the bad weather. It has staps so you can strap the roll on top of the bag makes a real goog setup, I think I gave about 90 dollars for it, by the way the bag is expandable so you can take alittle or alot. give them a try.
I have a good Tour Master set up that slips over the sissy bar and has a detachable barrel bag that attached on top. Kinda like this one http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/prod...116&cat=17 , but an older model.I was able to pack for a week at Laconia in that. This year I want to take a longer trip so I am going with the Leather works saddlebags with the EZ Bracket. That should be enough...I think...
You could go with detachable sideplates, sissy barand T-Bag; you could go with haulen ***/plug n play backrest with sissy bar and T Bag; you could go with motherwell rack, bungee and duffle bag. I think the ultimate non-bagger setup would be detachable sideplates with bike specific T-Bag. When you get to your destination, you just detach sideplates and set your rack, bag and all off as one unit. Good luck.
The following provides me with enough space for a week long venture..I put the willie and max compact slants down on the fender and put the mother well rack on top of that..Then I zip tie a willie and max "max pack" to the rack. To the max pack, I zip tie a leather roll and my rain suit...BTW can you tell I love zip ties...Never leave home without a fresh pack and some wire cutters..Bungee cords just aren't my thing...

You crate your Bob and pack your clothes.
Follow the other's advice, I have a small sissy bar and a T-bag that I use.

The link above was jacked up for me, but I think he's referring to these. http://www.bikersfriend.com/pages/harleygallery.htm
They look nice and would be good alternative to T-Bag. Looks like they would be a lot easier to move around on different bikes.(If I were so lucky to have more than one!)
ever thought of a tourpak? takes me 3 minutes to install and uninstall, when i get to were iam going.only a 150.00 mod to.waterproof also.pics are in my sig.info below
