If this has already been posted, my apologies, but I cannot find it.
Does anyone know the specs on the stock battery for the 11 WG?
My battery crapped out and I want to replace it, but I'm not paying HD to put in an overpriced battery. I'm looking for stock quality or better. Any suggestions or info would be appreciated- Thanks in advance.
Check Advance Auto Parts for a good online deal. I just got an AGM battery for my Road Glide for $103.00 shipped UPS 3 day. Comes with a one year replacement warranty at any local dealer. Theirs is a DEKA AGM made for HD, but with slightly recessed cable terminals (to get around HD exclusivity restrictions). Find the DEKA equivalent on Advance's site and then Google for Advance coupon codes. Best deal I've found anywhere.
I just checked and your battery is the same as my 10 Road Glide. Look for a deal on the Deka ETX20L. Many deals to be had for about $100. Or, play $170 at a HD dealer.
Drag Specialties batteries run 115.95 for your bike and have a one year manufacturer's warranty if you get your charging system checked (at least thats how we do it). They also have more cranking amps than the harley batteries. I have gotten 4-5 years out of the two I have used with use of a trickle charger at least.
DS part# 2113-0012,
HD part# 65989-97A/B
If you need a battery and have an Advance Auto nearby you can get an ETX20L battery from them for $69.99 using code TRT41.
It has 310CCA (stock is 270), 17.5 amp hours (I believe stock is 19 but I could be wrong) and 1 year warranty.
It is also made by East Penn.
I copied this from another post. I just bought one myself, online.
First Question I would ask is why did your battery crap out, Mine is nearly 5 years old and still works great. If your bike is still under the 2 year warranty I would take it back to HD, In fact I would take it back anyway. Good Luck
