U1097 DTC code from new 4" Speedo/Tach
Ive run the stock speedo after HD took thiers back and have had zero issues.
Miss the guage, dont miss the light show and worrying.
JTR
Tech is going to pay dealer 2 hrs labor, refund me the money paid for speedo.
They know about this now and admitted the Tach/Speedo has "issues".
Based on this, if your dealer won't refund for whatever, call MOCO and file a complaint. IMHO they are trying to get this to just go away. However I will miss not having this Tach/Speedo, but not the check lights and code setting.
Good luck all.

i got the "never heard of this before" reply when i took mine back.
mine was on the bike for 5 months before it went belly up.
When I brought it home yesterday I saw the mileage was reading a few more miles than when I removed it to install the new one. So all the miles that were put on with the new speedometer are gone.
I'm going to guess if you reinstall your orignal speedometer the mileage will read what it was when you orignally changed them. That's what it looks like happened to me. Good luck.

I noticed that the service manual is written in such a way as if the speedometer could never fail. Well I determined it was the speedometer and brought it into the dealer and told them the above. They had the bike for two days and the service manger told me they found the problem, he said it was a wet wire, I asked if he meant a connector and he confirmed it was a wet wire
. I told him the wires are insulated and they could be submerged in water and it wouldn't cause a problem, he got a dumb look on his face and suddenly had a loss for words. He also wanted to charge me eight hours labor for diagnosing the problem (wet wire
), until I called Harley Davidson and complained, then I got a call from the dealership telling me that the bike is ready to be picked up and it was covered under warranty. Riding home, engine light came back on, codes set. Lost all confidence in the dealership and bought some Screamin Eagle gauges. So first thing would be to check your codes, that might point you in the right direction, also look into the speedometer sensor on the trany.

I liked the looks of the CVO Screamin Eagle gauges, so I ordered those from Zanotti's. I had to wait a month because they have to send the speedometer to Harley Davidson to program in my mileage.
Although Harley Davidson states that these gauges work with the Low Rider, the tachometer doesn't fit because it is to tall. It has about a half inch wall of material on the bottom of the housing that I was able to trim off. I put the gauge face down on a towel and used a phone book turned to the right page to set the height of my Dremel, then just rotated the gauge to trim, also had to trim off some material on the mounting bracket that's inside the console. The speedometer has a couple of nice additions, a clock and also a sixth gear light that is triggered by the relation of RPM and speed.
I just recently installed the CVO spun aluminum speedometer and tachometer on my 2006 Dyna Low Rider and I'm having a problem with the low fuel level light.
The problem is with the 67516-04B Spun Aluminum Face 4" Speedometer, the low fuel indicator light stays on even with a full tank of gas. I also got a code B1005 which is for an open or high resistance circuit. I used the service manual and did all ground and resistance checks, and everything checks out OK.
With the old speedometers low fuel level light operates correctly, I swapped speedometers back and forth several times and the new one consistently malfunctions.
