I gutted my stock mufflers and it just didn't sound right. Found some SE slip-ons for $150. Sounded better, not too loud but rumbled.

Now that I have some $$$, I ordered up the V&H Pro pipe, VO2 Air Cleaner and Fuel Pak. I don't plan on any engine mods, so I figure the fuel pak will suffice.

If your straped for $$ pick up some slightly used slip-ons like I did. I plan to sell my SE slip on exhaust for roughly what I paid.

+1 for cycle shack. their the best performing slip-ons and sound better than V&H (imo). another option which might be cheaper is find a set of stock streetbob slipons from 2012 or older (i dont think the 2013 slipons would work), gut them of the useless stock baffle and you can pick up a set of cycle shack baffles that fit for all of $40. i actually took my old slipons and a set of cycle shack baffles and installed them on my cousins 03 lowrider because he hated the screaming eagle slipons that were on it and wanted cycle shacks. so for $40 he has a great sounding bike!!!

EDIT: just because it didnt take long to find, heres the parts you would need.

I learned the same way as Stilup and wasted money buying slip-ons, which are still collecting dust on a shelf 4 years later. They sounded great but when I found out there was more power to be had I shopped around and bought a bub7 2/1 system.
And he is right again there are baffles out there to be had for under 100$ that you can mod your stock pipes with. Theyre called big city thunder monster baffles for 80$ or 129$ if you want their quiet ones!

http://www.bigcitythunder.com/

you can get V&H rush cycle shack whatever they are still slip-ons. I have bought 2 full system exhausts, ebay is your friend, be patient! Happy Hunting!!!

My supermeg is amazing BTW, quiet at idle, people tend to say "wow that is pretty quiet for a Harley" When I give it a crank most people cringe, you want to be careful around kids or old folks! And it is on the list for top performers power wise!

Good thing about putting slip-ons on an FXDC or FXDB is that the cats are in the muffler bodies, so just doing slip-ons will get rid of the cats at the same time.

Regardless of whether you do slip-ons or full system, V&H is top notch in quality, sound and performance IMO.
+1................one thing to add..........because the cats were in the mufflers on my FXDC, the HD mechanic said "no need" to go to a full system. The slipons would be the SAME as a full system because the head pipes with slipons was already as open as a full system would be. Anyway, I love mine!

07 Street Bob opted for the Rush slip ons with 1.75" baffles. Also added SE stage one intake and a power commander. I think they sound very good for my taste....
