I just bought a set of the Todd Cycle 17in strip bars. Can i use my stock handlebar clamp from a 2012 fxdc or do i need a new set of risers? Also some pics of these bars would be welcomed. Thanks
I just removed my todds cycle 12" and just got done installing the 17" version. I also just finished shaving my rear fender and cut a new radius. Now if i can just get my tins painted this week I can finish up my winter mods and peacefully wait for warm weather! Heres the only pic of the 17's so far...it hasn't been out of the kitchen yet
Oh and those are 3.5" "chubby" risers. With the downward angle of the bars the rise wasn't quite enough for me. I do prefer apes to be on shorter risers as many people do but in this case I would rather be comfortable, but I don't think it looks bad... it would just look better on stock risers imo.
Hawnd how tall are you? Im 5 10 and was curiuos on how the feel is. Ive read a ton of threads on this but am always welcome to new input. By The Way ur bike looks great, when u get it out cant wait to see some more pics...
Pete, Thanks. I am 6' tall. With the risers they feel really good. I'm used to a flatter grip area instead of the downward angle. I only had the 12" on for about 400 miles, they caused a huge pain between my shoulder blades so they had to go. my old bike had 16" "nice curves" and caused no back pain so i wanted to go with something similar on the bob. These are advertised as 17" rise but they are actually about 15" at the grip. The uprights are 17" but I'm not holding them there haha. Obviously I havn't riden with these yet so I'll won't truely know until i get a few hundred miles on em. Dropping the tins off at the paint shop tomorrow, with any hope ill get em back this week. First decent day afterwards Ill get some pics posted up!
