I had a 2009 Super Glide Custom and just upgraded to a 2013 model (with ABS). Handling of the Super Glide is amazing. Had a Triumph Speedtriple for 14 years before converting to Harley and would never go back. We have a lot of small curvy roads here in Norway and the SG responds very well to that (while friends with Fat Boy scraping the asphalt with their equipment behind me). We drove to Germany last summer (4200 km) and the long trip wasn't an issue at all. No probs but bought some mini apes when I got back for more comfort. You can't really go wrong with any Dyna, but I prefer the Super Glide Custom.

I know the feeling. I just sold my CRF 450R because I hardly ride it anymore. Ever since I got my HD I find that Ive lost motivation to load up the bike and drive somewhere to ride it. When I have the urge to rip, I just open the garage door and go. Its pretty rare for a person to find the EXACT bike that fits them. I didnt care for my Fat Bob fender at all but I think its probably the best handling big twin that Harley makes. And coming from riding MX, supermoto, and sport bikes, I knew that was important to me. I swapped the rear fender for a Wide Glide one and now I like the looks alot more. Next up is some 18" wheels. My point is, find the bike that fits your needs the best and then customize it to make it yours. The possibilities are endless.

It sounds like the Street Bob needs a serious look depending on your customization ideas.
The Superglude is also a good choice.

The 19" front wheel of the SB and its overall design comes close to the WG look but without the added rake and skinnier wheel of the WG.

All of the new bikes have the 103 and power will be the same. The only difference affecting power in the Dyna family are weight and the WG and Fat Bob shotgun pipe. If you plan to change pipes, they all have the same power.

BTW. You might appreciate the dual front discs of the Fat Bob. It's also probably the best handling of the Dyna family.

For sure the dyna's handle better than the Softails. Also. The Softails have a counterbalanced engine. It's smoother, but the balancer robs power.

Figured I would chime in with an update...Last weekend I ended up buying a new 2013 Street Bob. Went into the dealership to talk about doing a factory customization and they just happened to have one sitting on the floor that was ALMOST exactly what I wanted to build...so, rather than wait for a custom order to come in, I grabbed this one off the showroom floor, with some plans to fix that "almost" part...Been grinning ear to ear ever since!

Just wanted to share.
