The mods I put on this winter were merely for looks. The ac kit because I was told I would get better performance and a little better mpg. The dealer put on the FLD footboard kit and digital speedo/analog tach. I put on the daymaker headlamp, and ac kit (only to take it off and return it because it already had the kit installed). I did take off the stock football ac cover, and replace it with the round bobber style cover. What engine mods would make the PV worth having?

Just to be clear here is the series of events that took place.

1. Took bike to dealer to have FLD footboard kit installed.
2. While bike was at dealer, decided I wanted a new speedo and the Screamin Eagle Stage 1 AC, and daymaker headlamp.
3. Dealer told me that in order to have the AC kit, I would need to buy a tuner, the kit, and it would have to have 4 hours of dyno time.
4. Did research and decided to buy PowerVision instead of having dealer do the work (Save the money for future wants)
5. They called me about 2 weeks later and said everything was done, so I picked up the bike and drove it home.
6. Get it home and "marry" the PV to my bike, install the headlamp, and then the AC kit
7. Realized the AC kit I just bought and put on my bike, was the exact same as the one I took off. *Which to me means that it probably didnt need the PV*
8. Take off the AC kit and head to the dealer
9. Dealer tells me that they knew my bike already had the Stage 1 AC. They return the AC kit.
10. Dealer tells me that they do not know if the bike had a tune. That the bike may be running fine at idol, but really lean at wide open. And that there is no way for them to know this unless they throw it up on the dyno.
11. Dealer calls DynoJet and is "told" that the PV can be wiped clean and reset to factory with the purchase of a code.

Its not the fact that I spent the money on the PV. I already intended to spend the money. Its that lack of communication, and attention to detail that bugs me. If they knew there was a ac kit on it already they should have said something, instead of selling me the kit and see if I figure it out.

I bought the bike used from this dealership, dont tell me they dont have there techs check the bike to make sure they are not buying a piece of crap that they cant sell because it doesnt run right. So I'm not buying the fact that they say they wouldnt know if it is running lean.

All in all I'm going to keep the PV. I got the money back from the AC kit. And I learned a lesson.

[QUOTE]4 hours of DYNO time WTF ?

I wasted a Dyno tune on my sporty they spent about an hour around $400 for sweet FA increase,

Ill stick with PC111 and maps along with DIY work, to many rip offs out

Nobody can tune a bike in an hour...they din't tune it, they checked it. Big waste of money

cams and head work is the main thing that will make the tuner work for you man. if you need anything i am not far (woodstock, IL) more than happy to help anyway we can. there is really nothing our shop does not do. I would gues your bike had the download in it, as any dealer would be able to easily see if you have a tuner in your bike or not... the tuner you bought will be worth it when you start making changes (pipes, air cleaner, cams, heads, motor build, for a few examples) let me know if i can help at all. hell maybe in the spring we can meet up for a scoot. i ride with several HDF members

Thanks! I'm definately up for a ride. I need to recoop from the $1900 I just spent. Getting married Nov 2014, so I gotta start saving a lil money instead of spending all my dimes on my bike. I'm not that mechanically inclined lol What do changing the cams and head work do? I've already got the pipes and air cleaner. Would it make a difference doing it now, or waiting till the engine has some more miles on it?

Getting your PV from Fuel Moto with their map is the best thing you could have done. I have their PCIII and bike runs great. I talked to a local dyno tuner at a motorcycle last month about doing a dyno tune. He asked me about what I had and then asked where I got my PCIII. When I told him Fuel Moto he said he would dyno it but may get only 2 or 3 HP. He said Fuel Moto maps are dead on most of the time. He would dynofor $300 but I should just save my money.

This is what happens:

Someone trades in bike with SERT

Dealer throws SERT in recycle bin

Someone buys the bike traded in

The dealer sells them a new SERT

Not all dealers, when I bought my bike they gave me the SERT along with it. Im sure there are plenty of shady dealers out there though just have to find a trust worthy one.

dude the PV is not wasted. I'm thinkin' some people already told you that , but That PV will be your best friend once you learn to use it and the next changes you make to your set up will be easily accommodated.
